The Legendary Everglades
Slinging your line into the waters of the Everglades provides an experience that is truly unrivaled. The world-famous Everglades National Park is easily one of the gnarliest, wildest locations in the country. It’s also home to the third largest contiguous wilderness area in the U.S. (lower 48 states). This unique locale is only able to be accessed via boat. The Everglades offers the most ideal atmosphere to enjoy some quality time with family, friends, or business acquaintances, as you enjoy the best fishing of your life!

Hundreds and hundreds of miles of shoreline in the Everglades help protect the famously shallow bays, creeks, and rivers – each of which play a vital role in the overall makeup of the Everglades. Everything about this place, from the water to the calm winds, provides an absolutely unbeatable fishing experience that you’ll never forget.

In one of the most beautiful places on the planet

Look, let’s be honest. When it comes to fishing, some days are more fruitful than others, right? However, even taking that into consideration, the region of Southwest Florida is unlike any other – and overflowing with great fishing opportunities. The weather here has 2 basic seasons: Winter & Summer – and the fishing opportunities differ greatly between them.

In the Winter, the climate is fairly stationary. There are some classic cold fronts that bring the overall temperature down, and harbors wind gusts from all directions. These two elements combined keep those fish constantly on-the-go, making them hungrier than ever for their next meal.

In the middle of those predictable cold moments, the winds tend to die down, the overall temperature starts to rise a bit, and that’s when all the fish up their aggressiveness, especially when it comes time to feed. This is when some of the best fishing happens, so be sure to book your charter with Captain Kurt before everything gets booked.

In the Summer, the weather is typically warmer than the rest of the year (obviously). In addition to that, the wind is basically as calm as it can be (and stable). Grabbing bait for a trip is super easy during these months, as well. The fishing can be incredibly fulfilling and fruitful, including tarpon, which usually migrate in massive amounts in the warm Summer water. Sure, these are typically the slowest times of the year, making it completely possible to go an entire trip without even seeing another boat.

Usually, and personally speaking, we tend to spend most of our fishing time on the northern half of the Everglades National Park (including the 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge in Everglades City, Florida). This area can be accessed easily from Fort Myers, Naples, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. It’s perfect for those looking for a quick, fish-related getaway.
